Active-Nano" is the finalist of the Russian Innovation Contest


The first Russian-European Innovation Forum, held in Lappeenranta (Finland) brought more than 700 participants, businessmen, and state representatives from different countries together. Russian and Finnish prime ministers, ministers of science and education, the head of the state corporation “Rusnano” took part in the Forum

During the Forum, the independent international jury consisting of representatives from innovation development organizations of Finland (the “Technopolis” company, Department of Business Development in Lappeenranta Region, University Science-and-Technology Center for Investigation and Development, etc.) selected the most promising companies and projects.

After the vote by secret ballot, 4 projects among 29 Russian innovation companies were chosen to reach the final. The awarding ceremony took place at the Lappeenranta University of Technology during the main Forum session on the 25th of May, 2010.

The “Active-nano” company represented the project of “Geoenergetika” association devoted to the wear-resistant mineral coatings. These coatings have high thermal and chemical stability, are applied on any metal, and provide the rise of hardness and wear resistance and protection from scuffing, corrosion and abrasive wear.
“Polyinform” (industrial and environmental safety assurance), the “Generatum Software” company (software for the mobile devices) and the subdivision of the Lappeenranta University of Technology “Wapulec” (water purification technology) also reached the contest final.


About the Russia-EU Innovation Forum


The first Russia-EU Innovation Forum took place in the town of Lappeenranta (Finland) on May 25-27, 2010. The Forum was organized in the scope of an international project called “European-Russian Innovation Corridor” (ERICO). The ERICO purpose is to promote Russia and EU collaboration in the innovation sphere basing on the experience of cooperation between St. Petersburg and South-East Finland.
